Beacon Blanket Jac-Shirt
Need a little motivation to head out on a chilly day? Look no further than this jac-shirt. We combined an exceptionally detailed jacquard weave - reminiscent of Native American trade blankets - with roomy jac-shirt styling to wear over your favorite T or sweatshirt. The pattern's deep colors are subtly muted, and the soft, comfy heft of the fabric is perfect when you're not quite ready to dig your coats out from the back of the closet. Great details: point collar, button-through patch pockets, straight hem, and herringbone twill tape inside the neck and sleeve plackets. Easy fit. Heavyweight 100% cotton. Machine washable. very comfortable as both a shirt over T or in 40/50 degree weather in place of a jacket. Colors are very attractive southwestern, altho more muted than shown. One caution: underarms and body are sized for a lean body, if you have a few extra pounds get the larger size - this shrinks even in a low heat dryer.

This is the second time I have puchased this jac-shirt. I constantly get comments about how much people love the pattern. I would have given 5 stars, but the buttenholes at the cuffs wear out. This happened on the first purchase as well.

I'm glad that I didn't pay full price. The shirt doesn't really live up to it's description. I was expecting a heavier shirt but when held up to the light, you can see thru the weave. So I'll wear it as an "under" shirt instead of an over shirt. Colors are more muted than I would like. Best thing about it, you don't see it everywhere on the east coast.

I hesitated on his one because of some of the reviews, but it is a nice shirt. It fits large, so my husband wears it as a jacket or over a tee. I like the colors. They are muted, but really pretty.

I have over 30 TA shirts. This is more like their traditional shirts i.e. bold New Mexico type of look. I really like this shirt a lot. Funny how people mention that folks like to touch TA shirts. Nevver happened to me until last week. My doctor asked is this a TA shirt and then touched it.
This shirt really looks good witha colored long sleeve TA polo.

Can't say enough about this shirt!! Very durable and comfortable. So soft can be worn as a shirt and of course just right as a layer against the morning or evening chill.

The shirt fits really well with room for layering or not and the colors are slightly "faded" which I hope will improve with time. It is important to realize this shirt is made in India done in a kind of heavy duty gauze weave. That means there is alot of space for shrinkage to occur. Suggest cold water wash, hang dry or dry with no hot air to keep the size the way you want it. Use the summer sun to soften and bleach the colors down. Perfect for walking the beach! Remember heat is not friendly to this shirt unless you want to shrink it.

Worst TTA Purchase Ever

Considering that I have been purchasing from TTA for well over 15 years now, I guess it was bound to happen when I would purchase one of their fine shirts only to feel as if it was the worst purchase ever.
The colors and fit for the Beacon Blanket Jac-Shirt were true to the picture and description even though I'm not sure I would classify it as "heavyweight." However the quality was the worst I have ever seen fro TTA.
I took it out of the bag and tried it on. The fit was fantastic. So as I do with all new clothes I threw it in the laundry basket to be washed before wearing. A few days later as I prepared to wash it, I noticed a 4" snag in it -- and I hadn't even worn it!!
A word of caution -- apparently its not the sturdiest weave if it couldn't make from TTA into the bag and out & into my wash without succumbing to a snag!!

For a women-size 10 I purchased a small. I love the diversity of this shirt and wear it over another colored T shirt. Whether I am dressing up with a skirt and concho belt or being casual with jeans. Last year I purchased another men's shirt similiar to this and love both of them. Can't wait to see what they have next winter in the same style. Very happy!!!!

Just what I hoped!!

I was looking for a warm comfy shirt/jacket for cool evenings or chilly days outside. Well this shirt arrived a few days ago and was all that I hoped for. It is warm and made of a sturdy, but yet comfortable woven blanket material. Well the last two nights i have worn it inside and outside and i truely believe i have found my "go to" shirt when i am hanging out or running errands on these chilly nights. Great job guys!!! Well made!!

Like others said, the colors are not as vibrant as pictured but I like them. Shirt is very comfortable fabric, perfect fit for a M size I expected...good value (at the sell price)...can tell this will be a favorite shirt for the fall/winter/early spring here in the mountains of New Mexico....wife loves it too (guess I better buy another one if I expect to wear it much)

I just received the Beacon Blanket Jac-Shirt and I am very imprested with the quality as well as the fit. This is my first TTA purchase and I am planning on purchasing some more of there clothing. The shirt is not as colorful as depicted in the picture on there web page but is still an awesome looking shirt. I don’t see how anybody could be disappointed in this shirt, I like it so much I almost want to purchase another one just have when this one wears out.

Colors were not vibrant as pictured on-line, given as a gift to son-in-law who did not see the ad, and he was very pleased with it. Personally I would have liked it better if brighter as shown in ad.

My husband looked at this and thought what "I am going to do with it?" Then he put it on and feel in love with it and never took it off for the rest of the evening. It has become his favorite around the house lounge wear over a t shirt. He loves the pattern and colors, the fabric is thick and soft. All around winner. I am not sure if he will ever wear it as a shirt jacket outdoors.

I really like this shirt. I have had it for 3 weeks and it is my go-to shirt when I am at home. It is heavy enough to wear as a coat shirt but not too heavy to wear alone. It is a great for layering.

I'll Tell You How It Could've Been Better

The size of the shirt is fine.
The PATTERN on the shirt is BRILLIANT, definitely its selling point.
HOWEVER, the weight of the fabric is very heavy, best for Winter, no problem with that, but the bright colors of the pattern are better suited for a warm, sunny Summer season.
For that matter, the knit/weave of the fabric is very clear for the eye to see (read: Poor), and distracts one from the pattern. Not only that, but the fabric is also very itchy and uncomfortable to the skin.
This pattern didn't get the treatment it deserved; it really should've been produced with a light-weight fabric, with the pattern either printed, woven, or knit as a short-sleeve cotton-poplin shirt.
I'd buy it if that was produced, even for the same premium that the current item sells at.
But not as a heavy-weight Winter shirt.
Bright, desert colors contrast too sharply with the white snow and grey skies of Winter.
